Mother Of All…Amma!

Have you ever  come across certain  situations,

Where you are happy and peaceful?
Where you have done something for others but not for you?
 A feeling of selfless service?
Experience a sense of satisfaction?

Amma’s birthday celebrations fills you with such kind of feelings.

I have gone to many festivals. But the people who attended mainly belonged to nearby places or may be from Kerala or can be from India. But Amma’s birthday is a festival, where people from every nook and corner of the world pool into this small village ‘Amritapuri’ to seek blessings from Amma.

Sharing and serving is a special joy that people would experience in these two days, 26th and 27th sept. Yes, Amma’s birthday is on 27th September. People from all ages (right from small babies to senior citizens),  people from all countries, people from all professions( students, teachers, research people, lawyers, workers etc) and people belonging to all religions have only one mission i.e, to see Amma and get her blessings.

You can really feel the the joy when all people across the whole world come together and sing ‘Loka samastha sukhino bhavathu‘ (Let all beings in the world be happy)!

I was very fortunate that I could be a small part of this occasion last year. The joy and energy that I gained from this celebration is immense.  The duty assigned to me was Security. We the students of Computer  Science and Engineering were at the engineering campus as securities( security for the people who stayed there). We had a lot of fun and learning.

Amma is called the Mother of AllThose who have purity of heart and thirst for God will seek Amma and reach Her.

So, be here on 27th September. Get Amma’s darshan.

Don’t Miss it!

                                                                   Aum Amriteshwaryai Namah!

“Do your work and perform your duties with all your heart. Try to work selflessly with love. Pour yourself into whatever you do. Then you will feel and experience beauty and love in every field of work. Love and beauty are within you. Try to express them through your actions and you will definitely touch the very source of bliss.” – Amma

Difference between OS and kernal

An Operating System, also known as an OS, is the software that makes a computer usable. The kernel is merely the “core” or lowest level of an operating system. The kernel provides numerous callable routines that allow other software to access files, display text and graphics, get input from a keyboard or mouse, and other such capabilities.

The operating systems that we come across today, generally have many features which are not the necessary features to make a system work. But these features are required to make the interaction with the system easier. Such features include graphical interface, file management, process management, shell, etc.

These features rely on the core part of the OS (called as kernel) to run and provide interface to the user or other application programs. It is to be realized that these features are inevitable, and only a kernel alone is of no use to the user.

An operating system also includes utilities that use the kernel. For example, MS-DOS provides a program known as COMMAND.COM, which is the program that allows a human to use the operating system. Windows Explorer, the MacOS Finder, and the various UNIX shells offer similar functionality. Other OS utilities may include a file manager, a software installer, and other items that are necessary to make the computer useful.
